The Aerospace and Defence Division of TRB Lightweight Structures was established as Technical Resin Bonders in the early 1950’s and was one of the first companies to produce a range of Aerospace Sandwich Panels and Aerospace Bonded Structures. Since those early beginnings, TRB Lightweight Structures which might reasonably have been called lightweight aerospace structures has grown and diversified into the Rail, Marine and Automotive markets, as well as maintaining a strong presence in Aerospace and Defence.

Bonded assemblies manufacturing

With extensive material processing, composites manufacturing and assembly facilities based at the Huntingdon factory in Cambridgeshire and supported by its Amber Valley Group services in Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire, TRB Lightweight Structures is able to provide a wide range of bespoke aircraft composite products based around lightweight honeycomb sandwich panel technology, bonded assemblies and composite components.

Products include interior equipment for civilian aircraft, bonded assemblies for special military vehicles, satellite solar panel substrates, composite structures for space applications, ballistics and blast containment materials and a range of Cellite Honeycomb Sandwich Panels.

A recent addition to the range of panels is the Cellite 840, Honeycomb Sandwich Panels specifically aimed at the aircraft interiors fit-out industry. Based on Glass/Phenolic skins with Nomex™ Honeycomb Core, the panel meets all the necessary FST requirements and has excellent mechanical properties.
