cPCI/PXI card
handles synchro, resolver, LVDT
for use in fly-by-wire flight controls, weapon pointing, actuators, aircraft test stands and navigation
instrumentation. Data acquisition PCI bus cards have developed to the CompactPCI/PXI form. PXI combines standard PC
technology from the CompactPCI™ specification with integrated timing and triggering to deliver a rugged platform
with a big performance improvement over older architectures. This has made PXI the industry standard for
measurement and automation applications.
Analog to digital converters
As the pilot deflects the control column or moves the rudder pedals, his commands are translated into digital
signals that pass through wiring to actuators fixed to each control surface.
CP3000 universal synchro, resolver, and LVDT converter.
ETLG Inertial Aerosystems announce the CP3000 universal synchro, resolver, and LVDT converter, manufactured by
US based Computer Conversions Corporation. This DSP based converter is 3U cPCI/PXI compatible and features a
universal ac sensor interface that digitizes up to eight channels of individually programmable inputs. The card’s
channels are transformer isolated and include three-wire selsyn/synchro, four-wire resolver, or two- or three-wire
LVDT / RVDT formats.
Other input types include both two-wire linear digital demodulator or sine weighted control transformer-type
format. Auto-ranging inputs accommodate 1 to 28 Vac signal inputs over 47 to 10,000 Hz and both position and
velocity/tachometer outputs have 16-bit resolution — accuracy is better then 1 arc-minute, and each channel
dynamically tracks input rates of up to 152 rev/s.
