THOMSON AIRWAYS Ltd - TECHNICAL TRAINING –
PROSPECTUS
This prospectus is not exhaustive and courses can be designed and added, to suit current requirements. Most of
this training is offered at our very modern EASA Part-147 approved training facility in Wigmore House at Luton. We
are able to deploy some training and if this is Part-147 approved an additional charge may be generated for
second-site approval.
Thomson Airways (Name changed in 2009 from Thomsonfly) was formed after the merger of Thomsonfly (Previously
Britannia Airways Ltd) and First Choice Airways (Previously Air 2000). This results in us having access to a large
fleet of aircraft of the types listed which supports the provision of EASA Part-147 approved practical training
certificates as well as theoretical training certificates. Thomson Airways technical Training staff are CAA
approved practical training assessors. The training manager may also fulfil the role of referee on licence and type
rating applications for contractors. Contract staff are not usually aligned to a quality (QA) department and often
encounter difficulties with licence and/or type rating applications. Thomson Airways Technical Training staff can
review applications to ensure that they are correctly completed, that the experience claimed is appropriate to the
application and then endorse the referee block prior to dispatch to the regulators. Having a reputable EASA
Part-145, Part-147 referee signatory reduces the hassles often encountered with these applications.
