
Beechcraft King Air Maintenance
For smaller aircraft like the Beechcraft King Air series repair, there are aircraft repairs which the regulatory
bodies call "Prescribed Repairs or Replacements" which do not have to be carried out as part of the regulated
maintenance checks. All the following aircraft come into this category, Socata TBM, Mooney M20 Series, Diamond DA40
Series, Diamond DA42 Series, Vulcanair 68P Series, Piper Meridian, Pilatus PL 12, Lear 45, Lear 31, Kingair 350,
Kingair 200, Kingair 90, Hawker 1000, Hawker 900, Hawker 800XP, Hawker 800, Hawker 700, Gulfstream G550, Gulfstream
V, Gulfstream IV, Gulfstream III, Gulfstream II, Falcon 7X, Falcon 900, Falcon 2000, Conquest, Citation,
Challenger, Cirrus SR20 Series, Cirrus SR22 Series, Cessna 425, Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, Cessna 421, Cessna 406,
Cessna 401, Cessna 310, Cessna 208, Cessna 182, Cessna 172, Cessna 150, Caravan, Bombardier, Beechjet and
Beechcraft.
Prescribed repairs are
- landing gear components such as aircraft tyres, landing skids or skid shoes
- elastic shock absorber cord units on landing gear where special tools are not required;
- defective safety wiring or split pins as long as they are not components in the aircraft engines, transmissions,
flight controls or helicopter rotor systems;
- fabric patch repairs as long as it does not involve rib stitching or the removal of structural components or
control surfaces, or do not cover up structural damage.
- aircraft upholstery and decorative furnishing of the cabin or cockpit interior as long as there is no dismantling
of any structure or operating system
- aircraft repairs not requiring welding to fairings, non-structural cover plates and cowlings
- replacement of side windows where that work does not interfere with the structure or with any operating
system
- safety belts or safety harness refubishment and repair
- aircraft seat repair or seat components not involving dismantling of any structure or of any operating system
- aircraft lamps, reflectors, glasses, lenses or lights
- cowlings as long as there is no question of removing propellers, rotors or disconnection of engine or flight
controls
- spark plugs
- aircraft batteries replacement
- generators and fan belts where special tools are not required
- VHF communications equipment when not combined with navigation equipment.
