Line maintenance and
scheduled maintenance
Roissy
International Limited was founded
in 2003 with the intent of supplying skilled technical maintenance staff to the aircraft industry with
particular focus on operators and maintainers of Fokker Aircraft and British Aerospace manufactured Bae aircraft
types maintenance. By specialising in the supply of such specific complementary technical services, Roissy
International was able to rapidly grow its customer base and in turn established itself as the key supplier of
professional maintenance personnel within its market. In 2006 the personnel section of Roissy soon became a
separate company from Roissy International under the name Roissy Technical Services
Limited.
It has always been the intention of Roissy International
to set itself apart from its market peers. The directors and management believe that Roissy International holds
a distinct and invaluable advantage, as they are, without exception, EASA Part 66 licensed engineers with
extensive maintenance management experience who clearly understand the needs and requirements of their
customers. Because of that insight and knowledge, we feel that we
have the benefit and advantage of being able to offer a broader base and more flexible support solution than our
market peers and competitors.
Roissy International has developed progressively within the aviation services market
place after initially providing maintenance personnel to companies
such as, Germania, Fokker Services, TNT, Euro Manx, Cargolux, Basco, KLM uk and Inflight. In 2004 we embarked on
the process of obtaining our own EASA 145 line maintenance approval to further our existing business. This was
successfully awarded to Roissy International in February 2005 and was based at our Stansted Airport line
maintenance facility. The approval has now been transferred to our facility at Humberside
Airport.
Currently our EASA Part 145 maintenance approval allows
us to provide the following range of services:
• Line Maintenance service up to and including major component replacement
• Scheduled Maintenance up to and including B check
• Modification and Service Bulletin implementation
• Structural Repair & NDT Inspection
• Boroscope Inspection

In May 2006, Roissy International was invited by KLM
Cityhopper to assist and complement its existing maintenance provider Martinair at Schiphol Airport in the
maintenance of its Fokker jet fleet. The operation at Schiphol Airport remains ongoing with KLM and our services
and client base now include Amsterdam Airlines and KLM mainline in support of their Airbus 320 series aircraft.
Due to the success of the KLM Schiphol support operation our maintenance customer base rapidly grew to include:
Alpi Eagles, Girjet, Britair, TUI Airlines Belgium, Helvetic/SRT, Contactair, Skyways, Skywest, Network Airlines
and Germania. Our services to these airlines have without exception made significant improvements to their day
to day operation and overall satisfaction with the performance of the Fokker fleet.
At the end of 2007 Roissy International purchased a large
newly constructed maintenance hangar at Humberside Airport, UK. This hangar of nearly 3000 square metres working
floor area was purchased to facilitate the development of light and line maintenance services up
to and including A and B checks. The Hangar is now fully tooled
and equipped and capable of holding and servicing various types of aircraft up to Boeing 757-300 A and B
checks.
Technical staff recruitment.
Roissy People is the new trading name of Roissy Technical Services
and was created at the same time as the deployment of our new website in
May 2009. It is intended to represent the people focus of the company and its services.
Starting out purely as an aviation industry specialist recruitment and manpower services
provider we supplied technical staff to a variety of Airlines and MRO’s which included TNT, Germania,
Cargolux, KLM UK etc. During these formative years we became increasingly aware that the change to EASA and
its progressive introduction of new requirements and legislation would make it increasingly difficult for
maintenance companies to use temporary certified staff, as they lacked the required mandatory
training.
As a result we
became increasingly aware of a shortfall in available Europe wide training and the opportunity that presented
itself to those companies who could bridge this gap.
Human Factors Training and Fuel Tank Safety System Training.
The current market solution is to run classroom based day courses, thus depending upon the
number of staff to be trained, companies either contract in their courses or send employees out to complete a
course.
At this time there
are two principle course categories, “Human Factors Training” and “Fuel Tank Safety System Training”, both day
courses and which have to be completed every two years. The Human Factors courses have to be completed by almost
everybody involved in the operation and support of aircraft, both production and clerical and
Fuel Safety Training is required by all personnel involved in Aircraft Maintenance
.
It is our intention to offer solutions to both of these issues as well as developing our own
type rating courses . The first step in our approach was to obtain our own UK CAA part 147 accreditation,
which is now in place with the initial type rating on A318 - A321 for B1 engineers. We will soon add the B2
course as well and plan to add new types including such as Embraer 190 and Fokker 100 type rating courses in
the coming year. The next step was to create a cost effective, accessible solution to the Human factors and
Fuel Safety courses issue for which we have developed online training courses that are available 24 hours a
day anywhere in the world.
This offers considerable savings to both the independent freelance engineer and participating
companies as no in-house or on-site instructors are needed, no travel or accommodation is required and nobody
has to wait for a course to fill seats before it can be run.
