MACHINING
Established in the early 1970's Murray Productions Ltd has grown considerably in size and reputation through providing a personal and highly responsive precision engineering service to industry. It has machining, press work and tool making facilities. This combination of engineering disciplines enables Murray's to take a project from prototype stage to fully tooled production. Another benefit clients derive is the company's experience and ability to undertake, with equal reliability, ultra high precision aerospace machining and pressing, together with volume commercial press part production. Substantial on-going investment mantained in the very latest computer and machinery tool technology with a view to maximise production areas, provide a fast turnround, ensure the highest continuity of quality and very competetive cost. WorkNC and XDNC enable us to control six CNC milling and turning centres with features including C axis milling and powered tool holders for back drilling, milling, etc... on the turning centres with positional accuracy to .0002 in X Y Z axis. A fully comprehensive conventional machine shop together with power press area supports the main CNC machining section.
PRESSWORK / PRESSINGS
A comprehensive range of presses to 50 tons provide capacity for -production, short or long runs precision components. Facilities or tool design and manufacture are available, together with try out and refurbishment capabilities.
External Processes
Heat Treatment,Plating etc... Is carried out under strict order supervision from Murray Productions. Traceability of material is ensured by our batching system and bonded store facilities are maintained.
Design and manufacturing of press tools and production tooling is carried out in order to provide clients with a complete service. Re-production prototypes can be machined from solid, using Murray's sophisticated computer programming system. Attention to detail and adherence to quality standards is tantamount to Murray's. Qualified Inspectors using regularly calibrated measuring equipment carry out in-process and final inspection of all components.
The department is equipped with the latest 3D co-ordinate measuring machine, shadowgraphs, nital etch facility and hardness/surface testing equipment. The company is working to BS 5750 and holds approvals from Westland Helicopters, Smiths Industries, BAE Systems, Thorn EMI and Graseby Dynamics Ltd
