Monarch Technical Support (MTSL) is one of Europe's leading suppliers of aviation personnel and manpower solutions. Founded in 1993 as an independent sister company to Monarch Aircraft Engineering and Monarch Airlines.
MTSL have built an enviable reputation within the industry for supplying the right people at the right time and ensuring that they arrive on the clients premises ready to work and make an immediate contribution to the clients business.
Due to the increased and ongoing levels of security at all airports, personnel being supplied to third party clients must be properly referenced and many have to undergo a CRC (criminal records check) in order to obtain an airside pass. The MTSL team has a great deal of experience in the paperwork required for airport passes and CRC checks.
MTSL were a founding member of FASS (Federation of Aerospace Support Services) FASS was established in 2001 by a number of reputable agencies in response to growing safety concerns about selection, vetting and recruitment of contractors, particularly within the aerospace industry. FASS aims to try and raise standards within agencies and has its own code of conduct drawn up by its members with the support of the CAA and EASA. FASS membership shows that an agency has a sound and robust quality management system that meets or exceeds the Code of Practice.
FASS carry out regular audits on members to ensure they maintain the standards required for membership.
MTSL also have ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and undergo both internal and external audits.
The core business of the company is to source and supply contract labour to the aerospace industry and to this end holds a large database of people looking for short and long-term contracts. MTSL can meet all your aerospace needs and specialise in supply of aircraft mechanics and licensed engineers as well as design engineers personnel and stress engineers.
Over the years MTSL have built up a large client base both in the UK and overseas and have sent engineers all over the world to assist airlines, MRO's and other aerospace companies including well known aircraft manufacturers.
The work carried out by MTSL contractors can be wide and varied. often involving such jobs as AOG engine changes. replacing undercarriages and repairing fuselage skins as well as general defect rectification. Many work in base maintenance, carrying out heavy maintenance work on our client's fleet of aircraft during the busy winter season. Line maintenance support is another area our clients renularly require our assistance with.
One aspect of aircraft maintenance that is often overlooked by passengers is external aircraft cleaning. Aircraft, like all other forms of transport get dirty, given that they operate in all climates from coastal areas to deserts.
Aircraft cleaning is important from many aspects. First and foremost is that dirt causes drag and drag increases fuel burn: Secondly and equally as important is that passengers do not want to see dirty aircraft, as this would give a bad impression of the company as a whole. Cleaning an aircraft is not like cleaning a car. Special detergents have to be used and the people cleaning the aircraft have to be aware of when and where not to spray cleaning fluids. These people are known as technical cleaners and have to undergo a certain amount of training to ensure they are fully familiar with the aircraft they are responsible for. They are also responsible for ensuring that the interior of the aircraft is clean.
MTSL also supply cabin interior trimming engineers. These are the people that ensure the interior of the aircraft is kept serviceable. This involves changing or repairing such things as seat covers, interior trim and aircraft carpets.
Hand in hand with aircraft maintenance is the supply of materials. tools, parts and administration. For this, MTSL supply logistics personnel, administration staff and accounts people. One of the major advantages of being a sister company to a major MRO is that we can draw on their vast experience and knowledge of aircraft engineering and maintenance requirements to more easily understand client's requirements. This also enables us to occasionally draw on their permanent engineering personnel to fulfil client's short-term requirements. Equally, we are often able to fill short-term top up requirements for MAEL. This type of flexibility is a vital factor in retaining our position in an ever more competitive market,
With the introduction of ever more advanced types of aircraft, such as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 there is an increasing demand for engineers to have experience on the maintenance and repair of composite materials and composites repair. As Monarch Airlines have ordered the 787 for delivery In 3010. MAEL are already preparing to meet the demands this type of aircraft will place on them. MTSL must also keep up to date with this as we will be tasked in the future with ensuring that the contract engineers we supply have the relevant experience required to repair and maintain composite airframes.
Although MTSL's core business is the supply of contract engineers, the company has begun to expand the scope of the business into other areas within the aerospace industry. We are now able to source and supply all types of aviation personnel, including but not limited to, pilots, cabin crew, security officers, baggage loaders and passenger service agents.
With the aerospace industry continuing to expand and the demand for good, highly skilled and motivated contract engineers and support staff increasing. MTSL are well placed to meet the challenge of supplying both contract and permanent staff to the aerospace industry world-wide.
