MAC CHOSEN TO DESIGN AND PRODUCE AIRCRAFT INTERIOR KITS FOR POLISH PRESIDENTIAL HELICOPTERS

MAC Aircraft Interior Specialists the UK’s leading aircraft interior refurbishment and manufacturing company are designing two quick change VIP interior kits for W-3A Sokol twin-turboshaft helicopters from PZL-Swidnik. 

The contract is worth $1.75 million and MAC are due to deliver the interior kits for installation at the PZL-Swidnik factory in Poland.  The helicopters are to be used by Poland’s President and senior leaders of the country and the Government plans to retain the option of re-rolling them at short notice because the entire VIP interior, with its palletised seats, can be removed in just 20 minutes by undoing 18 anchor fittings.   

The aircraft will each be fitted with luxury seats for the principal travellers, a rear three-seat divan with pull-down back for access to the baggage compartment, a two seat ottoman, a flight attendant seat and provision for two pilots.  The seats will be finished in full hide leather and the cabin walls covered in thin, pliable ultra-leather.  Aircraft cabin systems include satellite air-to-ground communications, audio inflight entertainment and upgraded lighting, helicopter heating and ventilation. 

MAC have been developing VIP Helicopter concepts with PZL-Swidnik factory for five years.  They started final design work for the W-3As in May, passed a critical design review last month and are now building the kits.  They are enjoying co-operation with Swidnik in what is the first ever foreign involvement in Polish VIP programmes.  MAC are preparing for an increasing number of projects from Swidnik.  They have already prepared a VIP concept interior for the Company’s single engine SW4 and are now ready to offer it to the market.
