Darchem Insulation Systems is a world leader in the design and manufacture of lightweight engineered thermal insulation systems for the aerospace, construction, industrial and high performance vehicle markets.

Insulation Systems provides products for the majority of commercial aircraft including the new Airbus A380 and the Boeing 737. Programmes include the high volume single aisle European and North American aircraft series. In addition the majority of aero engine manufacturers have selected Darchem systems for their civil and military engine insulation programmes.

Typical aerospace applications include aircraft jet pipe, ducting insulation and heatshields. Within the high performance automotive and construction applications Darchem produce exhaust manifolds, turbo charger insulation, catalyst heat shielding, thermal insulation and fire protection to meet the latest test standard emission controls and legislation such s DPFs, SOLAS, Tier IV, and Euro 5 & 6 standards.

Darchem Engineering was this year named North East company of the year at the North East business awards. This Award tops and already successful year for Darchem who have revealed plans to hit £100million turnover by 2013 after winning a contract with Rolls Royce said to be worth in the region of £4million a year.

The contract is to supply titanium components for aerospace ducting, aero engine by-pass ducting and high temperature exhaust systems. The components are to be used in the new engine that is to be used to power the Gulfstream G650 Aircraft. The new engine will be built at Rolls Royce Germany at their Berlin facility.
