Bournemouth Aviation (Consultants) Ltd is a CAA/EASA approved Design Organisation based at Bournemouth, providing our customers with a wide range of aviation design, manufacture and support services, including Major (Supplemental Type Certificates STCs) and Minor modifications for all aircraft types (UK/EASA or foreign registered). The business obtained CAA Design Approval in the late 1990’s which we then extended to include JAA design approval. In 2003 we applied for EASA design approval and in 2004 we were one of the first companies in Europe to obtain EASA part 21 design approvals to provide the industry with avionics, electrical and structural modifications, interiors refurbishment and seating layouts (Lopa).

In addition to aircraft design and sub-contract manufacture of wiring harnesses, metallic and composite structures, and installation modification kits, we developed and manufactured through our alliance partner the Skycam cockpit door video surveillance monitoring system, which is currently flying with many Airlines throughout the world. Skycam has been expanded to provide cargo hold surveillance monitoring and recording and also has the capability for infra red (covert) monitoring.

Airborne medical systems have always been part of our ‘area of expertise’ with a number of helicopter stretcher and medivac conversions for the UK Police and Ambulance services. Following extensive ground and flight testing of airborne defibrillators we are pleased to be nominated as sole distributors for the Airborne Heartstart FR2 for the UK.

As we have EASA approval we find that many countries will accept our modifications even though they have not signed up to EASA. This allows our expertise to be sold to companies world wide. In addition, we have a DER and DAR resident in the USA to provide FAA design approval for American registered aircraft.

• Cabin Interior installation and modifications, including VIP LOPAs, galleys, stowages and bulkheads.
• Development of repair schemes and modification to secondary and tertiary structure.
