Alstom AGL Airfield Ground Lighting

ALSTOM offers an extensive product range which includes airfield lighting elevated approach, threshold, PAPI (precision approach path indicator), runway and taxiway airfield lighting and associated equipment such as constant current regulators, Surface Movement Guidance Control Systems (SMGCS), isolating transformers and connector kits, mounting systems and other miscellaneous airfield items.

SmartControl is the most advanced control system to be offered by ALSTOM. Launched in 1997, it is already operational at many UK and overseas airports, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Luton, Isle of Man, Ashgabat in Turkmenistan and Heraklion in Crete. Recent contract wins for the system include Edinburgh, Aberdeen and London City Airports.

ALSTOM's lighting expertise is not only limited to airports and airfields. For over 25 years ALSTOM has also supplied equipment to over 25 navies worldwide. Fully engineered systems of helicopter landing and servicing aids can be offered for aircraft carriers, frigates, corvettes, OPVs, oil rigs and other naval and commercial vessels.

A full range of obstacle lighting is also available for use on structures such as chimneys, discharge towers, radio and television towers, bridges, high-rise buildings and for offshore oil platforms

The complete range of ALSTOM lighting complies with ICAO standards, FAA Advisory Circulars, BS3224 and UK CAA regulation CAP 168.

Airfield Ground Lighting

Helipad Lighting For helipads both onshore or offshore, ALSTOM offers a range of helipad lighting to assist helicopter guidance even in the most hostile environmental conditions.

Shipboard Helicopter Visual Landing Aids and Starting and Servicing Equipment

ALSTOM offers a fully engineered system of helicopter landing and servicing aids for aircraft carriers, frigates, corvettes, OPVs, oil rigs and other naval or commercial vessels.

These have been supplied to over 25 navies worldwide.

Obstruction Lighting

ALSTOM offers a wide range of obstacle lighting for use within airports and for general obstacles such as chimneys, discharge towers, radio and television towers, bridges, high-rise buildings and for offshore oil platforms.

Portable Lighting

A range of portable lighting systems is available for any length of runway.

Units are trailer or skid mounted and are ideal for emergency airfields, temporary airfields or for temporary lighting during construction work.

Roadway/In-pavement Lighting

ALSTOM’s range of in-pavement lighting provides visual guidance for vehicles in areas of high volume traffic or hazardous access areas.

Installations include Lantau road tunnel traffic flow control (Hong Kong); Felixstowe Docks (UK); UPS vehicle washways (USA) and various hotel forecourts worldwide.

Control Systems

ALSTOM provides solutions to meet individual airport or lighting control system requirements. Simple desk or wall mounted control boxes, advanced radio linked or fibre-optic linked panels through to touch screen control consoles and Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems (SMGCS). All are designed by ALSTOM engineers, who have a depth of experience in control systems for safety critical environments.

CCRs

A range of constant current regulators is available for control of airfield lighting series circuits. Ratings range from 1.5kW to 30kW and the CCRs have options for earth leakage detection, lamps out detection, hours run, insulation resistance, current monitoring and multi outputs.
